• MakerBot Operators Google Group - Thoughtful questions are typically answered within 24 hours with copious amounts of advice
• MakerBot Wiki  - The wiki is a bit outdated in some areas but has loads of useful information
• MakerBot Forums -  Attached to the Wiki.  Not as active as the Google Group, but still quite useful
• Thingiverse - THE place to get and share the things you make!

Building a MakerBot - Fine Tuning

After running the calibration scripts and checking that I had an appropriate raft, the first step I took in fine-tuning my TOM was to read through the trouble shooting guide.  There's some great advice in there about ensuring your printer is approximately to specifications.
After following that guide, I made my frist successful print.  Unfortunately, the print is out of spec in one dimension by about .25mm. That doesn't sound like much, but the other two dimensions are spot on perfect down to 5/100mm (the best my cheapo vernier caliper can measure).
Sadly, I didn't mark off the X and Y dimensions before peeling the print free, so I'll have to print another before I know where to start fiddling.
